Examinations

Founded in 1904, The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the world’s leading dance examination boards.

Once they have achieved the necessary standard, pupils have the opportunity to take ISTD graded examinations in Imperial Ballet, Tap and Modern Dance from Primary Level to Grade 6 and through to their major examinations.

Examinations are not compulsory. Pupils who do not wish to take examinations will still continue onto the next grade, regardless. 

The Stoller School of Dancing has maintained a 100% pass rate in all ISTD examinations throughout the years.

  • ISTD examinations in Tap and Modern are held every Spring term at Albury Village Hall.
  • ISTD examinations in Imperial Ballet are held in the Spring term in Cheshunt.

ISTD MODERN & TAP EXAM RESULTS 2024
On Sunday 18th February 2024, a total of 17 examinations were taken and all passed, maintaining the school’s 100% pass rate. 12 of our pupils were awarded a Distinction!
 
Special mentions go to our primary pupils, Lila L & Sophie K (age 6 & 7) who both achieved high Distinctions for their ISTD Primary Modern & Tap exams.
 
Our highest scoring exam pupil was our 9yr old junior pupil, Millie Elson. Millie was awarded 85% for her ISTD Grade 3 Modern and a whopping 90% for her ISTD Grade 3 Tap!
 
We’re super proud of our senior pupil Millie Carter for achieving a Distinction in her ISTD Intermediate Modern Exam! 
 
ISTD IMPERIAL BALLET EXAM RESULTS 2024
On Sunday 3rd March 2024, we saw pupils take exams from Primary Ballet right up to Intermediate Ballet! All students passed, maintaining our unblemished pass rate.
